Effective. Convenient. Secure.
Online counseling, or Teletherapy (done with real time, face-to-face, video-based counseling sessions) is just as effective as therapy conducted in an office setting.
My clients love online sessions because it allows them to meet wherever they feel safe and comfortable. You don't have to hire a sitter if they are home with a napping baby or take off extra time from work for travel to & from an office. Plus, by meeting in your own environment, over a secure video platform, online counseling allows you to more quickly transfer the skills and insights you have learned in session to your life in real-time.
All you need is a secure, high speed internet connection. If you can stream Netflix without a hitch, you can meet with me! Sessions are completed with HIPPA compliant video software that is free and easy to use. Just download the free Telehealth by Simple Practice app from the app store. When you schedule your appointment, a secure video link is created for your appointment and sent to you via email (it will also be sent about 10 minutes before our appointment, just in case you misplace it).
When it's time for your scheduled appointment, click the link and we will be connected via the camera and audio on your computer, tablet, or cell phone.
As an anxious person, there is nothing that adds to frustration like having to high-tail it across town only to sit in a waiting room and then hurry back to the next appointment or remainder of your workday. You save all of that stress and time by meeting for your appointments right where you already are.

Online Sessions Are For You If...
- The idea of driving across town to get to another appointment or run another errand in the middle of your day makes your head spin (my job is to decrease the stress, not add to it).
- You love the idea of flexible, convenient, daytime appointments.
- You like knowing that that since we will be meeting in your environment, the work we do can be easily transferred and applied to your life in real-time
- You have a safe, comfortable place to meet with a strong, secure internet connection.
- You know that the research states teletherapy (done with real time, face-to-face, video-based counseling sessions) is just as effective as therapy conducted in an office setting.
- You can cope with the inherent imperfection of technology and the internet. You might feel a little frustrated, but it doesn't ruin your day.
- You are in the state of Maryland or New York while the counseling session takes place.
